At CIPS, our objective is to help senior executives to move onto an advanced phase of continuing professional development. Through our targeted high-level training at postgraduate level, you will further professionalise and enhance your comprehensive insight into the key role of procurement, enabling you to drive your team and projects even more effectively.

Master Practitioner

All aspects of this programme builds strong, strategic leaders in procurement and supply who will become key influencers, changing not just the way their organisations work but also impacting the markets, supply chains, wider sector and communities in which they operate.

Accredited by CIPS and equivalent to a Postgraduate Diploma, the CIPS Master Practitioner Programme is designed to create Procurement and Supply Chain leaders of the future and provides a route to achieving Chartered Status.

What makes this executive style programme unique is that all learning is focused on being directly relevant to the organisation for whom the student works.  The workshops, assignments and final project all focus on applying learning back to the workplace, driving business improvements and return on investment.  It also provides opportunity for significant continuing professional development for the participant.

The Master Practitioner programme consists of:

  • Six training modules which are delivered through 3 to 5 days of intensive, interactive, face to face workshops
  • Assessed assignments that follow each of the learning modules and
  • A final dissertation (business project), presentation and interview which focuses on the participant applying their learning to solve problems and issues or improve procurement and supply within their organisation

 

 

Master Practitioner Programme Structure

Entry criteria

Programme participants must be MCIPS.

Aligned to the CIPS Advanced Professional Level within the CIPS Global Standard, the programme consists of 1,200 learning hours (equivalent to 120 Masters Level credits), and requires a high level of personal investment, commitment and drive to succeed.

Leading procurement strategy

Cranfield School of Management

CIPS / Cranfield Leading Procurement Strategy Programme

22nd - 24th November 2017

This three-day masterclass is co-designed and co-delivered in partnership with the Cranfield School of Management and covers the latest thinking in procurement and supply management. 

It will develop your capability to assess true costs, mitigate risk, drive innovation, support growth and ensure your organisation operates at greater levels of efficiency.

It will also equip you with the skills, knowledge and tools to lead procurement teams in both public and private organisations and to bring the procurement agenda to the highest levels in your organisation. 

The first day focuses on the strategic role of procurement in the organisation and the link between procurement performance and competitive advantage. 

The second day concentrates on providing you with key tools for managing strategic supply networks and improving performance. 

CPD 21 hours

Finally, the third day covers issues of innovation and leadership, which will allow you to face current and future challenges.

By the end of the programme you will have a better understanding of how to deliver value through procurement and increased confidence in managing your team.
