ADEC awarded CIPS Corporate Certification – Platinum Advanced Standard -A world class achievement

The Abu Dhabi Education Council’s (ADEC) Procurement and Contracts (P&C) Division has been awarded CIPS Corporate Certification – Platinum (Advanced Standard) after continuously improving their procurement and strategy process.
The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) has awarded ADEC’s P&C Division with the globally-recognised procurement accreditation after the division has shown great progress within a year resulting in a jump from gold to platinum. ADEC is the 2nd organisation in the region to reach this standard and the 7th globally.
The platinum grade demonstrates that an organisation delivers a world-class procurement function in terms of their level of influence, control, and involvement.
The certificate was received by H.E. Dr. Yousif Al Sheryani, Acting Executive Director of Planning and Strategic Affairs Office, on behalf of the Director-General of ADEC, in the presence of H.E. Ms. Salama Alameemi, Executive Director of Organizational Development & Excellence and Acting Executive Director of Support Services at ADEC; Mr. Khalifa Al Obaidly, Procurement & Contracts Division Manager and Mr. Musallam Alameri, Advisor to the Director General’s Office. And was presented by David Noble, Group CEO, CIPS.
“We pride ourselves for being the first government entity in the UAE to obtain this certification which reflects our commitment to applying the best international practices in procurement and supply. It is my pleasure to congratulate all staff of the Division for their valuable efforts,” said Ms. Alameemi.   
Mr. Khalifa Al Obaidli said that the Procurement & Contract Division at ADEC has made great strides in this area, which enabled it to progress and earn platinum level which is considered the highest level  organizations can achieve in the area of procurement and supply chain. Performance is assessed according to the highest international standards, 
David Noble Group CEO, CIPS said: “Achieving platinum level in CIPS Corporate Certification is a major achievement for an organisation. ADEC has demonstrated that they have set out clear and defined objectives, are strategic and work to the highest possible levels,  and demonstrated that that they have a world-class procurement department.”
The P&C division is comprised of five teams that deal with the direct expenditure of ADEC; Supply Chain Services, Contracts, Purchasing, Market Development and Planning.
The award recognises a business’ continuous commitment to governance and compliance in procurement and supply chains 
According to CIPS assessors, ADEC and the procurement teams provide a vital input to business strategy review and development and have shown clear understanding and interpretation in supply market developments. Their level of business awareness is seen as significant within the organisation and the level of influence reaches board level,warranting the platinum grade.
