The public sector now spends more on contracts with the private and voluntary sectors (£235 billion) than it spends in providing services itself (£194 billion). This includes contracts for critical aspects of public service delivery such as the running of rail services, rehabilitation of offenders and training military pilots.

Late last year the NAO published their interactive Commercial and contract management – insights and emerging best practice which highlighted the common themes and learning opportunities they identified through their reports, well over 100 since 2000, assessing many of these risky and imperfect contracts.

The aim of the webinar is to share thoughts on how our thinking has evolved over the last 6 months and consider how our more recent reports, such as Carbon Capture Storage and BBC licence fee arrangements, fit within themes identified.
